Bringing Fiona Home...

When I titled our blog Bringing Fiona Home, I could have never realized the full meaning that phrase would come to mean to us. What a journey this has been. Moments of sadness beyond what I thought I could endure and moments of joy I will forever hold in my heart. It was those moments of joy that have gotten me through this last year - promises from God telling me He was going to see this through. And, He is.

In just a couple of days I will find myself in Africa once again.

This time - to finally Bring Fiona Home.

The Starfish Story - By Loren Eisley

One day a man was walking along the beach when he noticed a boy picking something up and gently throwing it into the ocean.

Appoaching the boy, he asked, "What are you doing?" The boy replied, "Throwing starfish back into the ocean. The surf is up and the tide is going out. If I don't throw them back, they'll die." "Son," the man said, "don't you realize there are miles and miles of beach and hundreds of starfish. You can't make a difference!"

After listening politely, the boy bent down, picked up another starfish, and threw it back into the ocean. Then, smiling at the man, he said... "I made a difference for that one."
