The Countdown Is On!

Dear Family and Friends,

Five more days and we will be headed home! Rachelle taught the girls part of the "I'm coming to America" song, so they have been singing that. Fiona says she is "coming to American." Cute! Today was a rather quiet day. The girls had Saturday afternoon Awana, but Fiona was really needing a nap, so she stayed here while Rachel went. I have not left the hotel all day! I told Rachelle, that also means I have not sweat today...which may be a first! :) It really helps that this hotel is up on a hill over the lake, we get a nice breeze.

I have read some today, napped, uploaded some new pictures to the Picasa album...nothing much at all! Tomorrow we will go to church for the last time here. We really do enjoy it and is one of the things we will miss here.

Monday is the big day! Our visa appointments are at 2:00 p.m. Feels a little strange because we have run out of things that we have to take care of to prepare. The waiting is still hard, but we are going enjoy our last few days in Uganda. We plan on going to the National Museum craft market on Tuesday and then get another day of swimming in before we go. I hear it is cold and rainy at home, so might as well get it in while we can. :)

Tomorrow is a big day at our church back at home. Sidewalk Prophets are performing tomorrow night. They have had a few songs on the radio and they are wonderful. Sad that I am going to miss it. They are also starting the day with an outdoor worship service and a fall festival in the afternoon. Should be a great day! Good luck Dave with everything! Will be thinking of you!

Should be an interesting day here tomorrow as well. The hotel owners daughter is having her "introduction" here. They are preparing for 400 people to attend. It is custom here to have an "introduction" ceremony here before the actual wedding. This is where both families of the bride and groom are formally introduced to each other and the groom presents his gifts to the brides family...which many times involves gifts of cows and livestock. Preparations have been going on all day here and it will probably be a noisy night as they will be up cooking throughout the night tonight. The owners wife has invited us to come and join them, so we will probably do that for a while. We probably won't fit in very well as everyone will be dressed in their finest African dresses! We kind of stand out wherever we go though, so nothing new. :)
