Hello family and friends. I could write a book of all that happened today. It was difficult and challenging at times, but we saw God working and accomplishing things. We started early today when Godfrey picked us up and then the girls to head to the "surgery", which is the doctors office. Both girls came out dressed in their Sunday best. Little Fiona came out all dressed up with a little hanky in her hand, she looked like a little lady. She was so cute. She did well at the doctor until the pokes. She got one for a TB test and another finger poke for an HIV test. We go back on Saturday for the TB results and the HIV was negative, Praise the Lord! She cried pretty hard when she got poked and wouldn't look at us straight in the eyes for a while, but she eventually made up with us.
Then we were off to Peters office. Yesterday I explained how he is changing the language in our documents to go for adoption rather than legal guardianship. With the choice of judges we have, he feels this is our best option when it comes to the US Embassy. Little did we know that this would require us getting all new affidavits signed from Scovia, the local chief, the local probation off icier and Mr. Kafeero. By the end of the day we have 3 out of 4 which means our motion can be filled first thing in the morning. Livingstone helped with Scovia and the local chief and we will get Mr. Kafeero's on Saturday (which luckily we do not need tomorrow). The probation officer on the other hand was a pistol. Godfrey (our driver) went in first to have him sign the new papers. He had already signed these before, so hoped this would be no big deal since there is just a few words changed in the language. We called for Peters help after he refused to sign. He ended up signing, but said we would need to come back later for a report to be written and none of us had a great feeling about him. We ended up going back at 5:00 to meet with him and spent the next three hours painfully going through the writing of our reports. All the information he needed was contained in our affidavits, but we sat there while he slowly went through each detail. I was very nervous for about the first hour as he questioned us...but then really felt that God was a work in making this happen. We have to show good cause for an adoption exception, and he ended up doing a very nice job for our cause. At the end of his report he said it was his recommendation that Fiona (and Rachael for the Grahams) be placed for adoption with us. He said it was evident to him that Fiona was very fond of us and very attached to us as well.
This little girl has surely stolen our hearts. She reminds us in many ways of Tyler. They should get along great! While this day was long I think it ultimately will benefit our case. Things are moving slower than I would like, but I am confident this little girl will be ours...she already is.
We will go back on Monday for the final part of our physical, which should be easier than today's visit. She weighed in at 35 pounds and about 41 inches tall today. I think she is probably a couple of pounds heavier than she was a week ago with all she has eaten!
Today, Rachael and Fiona sang a song for me in their native language and I video taped it...can't wait to show it to you all. They sit and talk to each other in luganda, which is just precious even though we don't have a clue what they are saying to each other.
Still homesick for you all and Tyler! This will all be worth it in the end though when we bring home our daughter. Our families are in for a big treat with these little girls!
Please continue your prayers - we can feel the. Please pray that Satan will stay at bay and that our God will work mightily in this process and bring us home with our girls soon. Please pray also that we will not fear, but open our hearts completely to trust in Him, even in these difficult moments.
Miss you and love you all!
Sara and Dave
P.S. Rachelle ate a fried grasshopper at dinner today! She is so brave! :)
Your faith is so inspiring! Vicki and I were both in tears as we read your post together. We will keep praying that God continues to move things along for both you and the Grahams. Thought of you guys today as Paige graduated from preschool...we so hope that she and Fiona will be starting Kindergarten at the same time.

Hey Brodzinskis, yes, lisa & i were both tearing up hearing about all of todays events but your faith is inspiring. I just know that God is working miraculous things for you all and it definitely shows them your great love for this girl you've waited so long for. She really is yours already even though it's only been a week! Much love :)

PS. Paige is probably twice Fiona's weight and a good few inches taller but i'm sure Fiona will catch up in no time, even if she is as a picky an eater as Ty. Oh, and he did great at the dentist a couple days ago and was a real champ, even though he hated the flouride taste.
Good morning, You are a perfect example of the word FAITH. Thinking of you all often. The kids had fun with their solar ovens at school the other day. It was very sunny that day, so they enjoyed their hot dogs and nachos! Keep up the faith, The Chases
