Happy Sunday!
We've had a pretty busy day here in Gaba. Started by going to church this morning. It was Children's Sunday in church so all the classes got up and sang and danced. It was really nice. Sometimes the waiting is hard here, but this morning church was just what I needed and each day God gives us here is really a gift. We've learned so much here that we will always have with us.
After church we enjoyed lunch and a little down time. Rachelle and I needed to hit an ATM, so Livingstone escorted us. The one in town was not working so we had to hop a matatu to the nearest town to get some cash. Then we were off to buy school supplies in the market. The list of items is much different here...of course the ordinary stuff like pencils, paper, etc...but also on the list of required items is toilet paper, shoe polish, a shoe brush, an inside broom and an outside broom (which here are a bunch of sticks tied together in a bunch) and socks to match their uniforms. The girls also got their first book bags, which was a big hit. They are both really excited about getting back to school. They polished their school shoes tonight and Teddy is pressing their uniforms. They are excited to bring us to school in the morning to see it and meet their teachers.
Tomorrow we will hopefully be meeting with Sarah, our attorney and be receiving a court date. Please be in prayer about this for us.
We had fun talking to Livingstone, Florence and Teddy tonight and Livingstone asked us if a man brings livestock (goats, cows) to the brides family before they marry. We said no, in America the brides family usually pays for everything with the wedding and they couldn't believe it. The cultures are just so different! They have been so much fun to be with and have really blessed us so much while we've been here.
