Hello Family and Friends,
Hard to believe we have now been in Uganda for three weeks. We officially let Peter go today and hired Sara as our new attorney. She is filing papers tomorrow with the court to let them know we are changing our legal representation to her so the file can be transferred. She is in a workshop most of tomorrow, so says we will most likely hear on Monday about our hopeful June 14 hearing. Most likely what we see happening is that we would travel home after that hearing while we wait for our second hearing. We are also talking about the possibility of just one of us coming back to finalize things. Hopefully we would be able to do this traveling with Rachelle when we return so we wouldn't be alone.
Today we had some company for lunch. Mark met a lady by the name of Andrea who is staying just a few homes down the street from us while she is finishing up her adoption. He met her in Peter's office. We were anxious to have her over and to hear her experience, which has also been a long one. She was here in February and March and then went home. She came back a couple of weeks ago to finish things up and hopes to go home with her little boy next week. It was so nice to talk to someone else dealing with the same issues!
We mixed things up today helped plan and cook lunch with the Lule family. We made a Mexican lunch. We made our own tortilla chips, guacamole and salsa, and also had beans and a delicious mixture of sausage, eggs, cheese and potatoes! It was really good!
Tomorrow we are going back to the craft market. There are some items now we wished we would have picked up and it will help break up the day some here.
We continue to miss home and all of you dearly. How we can't wait to be home!
Love you all!
Sara and Dave
Hope you had fun today Tyler! Have fun mini golfing tomorrow! XOXOXO Miss you and Love you!
Hi Sara,
ReplyDeleteThanks for letting me follow your blog. I look forward to your daily posts which are very touching at times. It sounds promising that you have a new lawyer.
Madison was given a Disney Princess yoyo as a gift from an older friend that did not realize she's past the pricess stage. She didn't open it, and said she was saving it for Fiona. We cannot wait to meet her and Rachael.
God bless all of you.
It feels like you have been gone longer than 3 weeks -- though I'm sure it feels even longer on your end! We will be excited to have you home and hear all about your experiences firsthand. And... we'll be even more excited when Fiona makes her debut! :-) Can't wait to meet her; sounds like she is a perfect fit. Have fun at the market tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Becky & Andy
I agree with your sister, it feels a lot longer than 3 weeks! I am glad you have found a new attorney. I will continue to pray for her and all of you.
ReplyDeleteHow did Peter take the news?
If Tyler needs to change things up - JT gets out of school on Tuesday and we could go get Ty for the day. Take Care! :) Love, Mark & Carla
