Hello Family and Friends,
We are still here! Didn't get to post yesterday as we were still without electicity and all electronics were running out of battery juice!
Good news for today - electricity came back on a few hours ago! Can't tell you how happy we were after more than two days without! With the interenet being our only source of outside communciation, it was hard to not have it! Water came back on last night - cold - but we do not care!
Thanks for all the comments you are posting. It really does help us feel closer to home.
Day 10:
We started by going to church. We went to Linvingstones class and then we were off to a two and a half hour worship service! It was youth Sunday, we got to watch a lot of good singing and dancing. We came back here for the afternoon and went to bed quite early since it was dark with no electricity - it gets dark about 7:00 here.
Day 11:
Went to the "surgery" this morning for the girls last medical exam. All went well except for a little rattle in Fiona's lungs. Doctor wanted to do a chest x-ray, he thinks things are fine, but is just being cautious. Then went to a mall in Kampala to an internet cafe since we needed to check and send some email. The girls got to ride in an elevator for the first time too.
Came back here for a fun afternoon of playing. Fiona and Rachael got their fingers and toes painted and Fiona was just too funny showing it off and dancing around looking at her pretty nails! She is such a girly girl!
The registrar is back in court and we are still waiting for word. So, our big pray request for tonight is that we will hear some concrete news tommorw on a court date! We know God has a plan in all of this and we will see how it all came together when this is over. We miss our families at home at the same time and can't wait to all be together again and share these girls with you all!
Florence just told us that the girls are going to start staying here at the guesthouse starting tomorrow night. They are going to stay in a bedroom with Scovia's granddaughter Teddy. It should be fun!

Hello dear friends, we are reading your posts and praying for you daily! We love you guys! Enjoy your time in Africa, because when you come home you will leave a piece of your heart there and will want to go back! We were asked to accept a referral for 2 girls, we declined for many reasons. We are waiting for the right 1 in our range. Right now we were asked by our home study agency to do foster care for a couple of weeks. So we have a 4 week preemie (4 lbs. and 10oz.) baby girl in our home. Life is busy. Praying for your family and your safe return! Love to all!

ReplyDeleteCan you imagine how many "firsts" there are going to be in Fiona's life? God's plan seems to be giving Fiona some uninterrupted time to enjoy her new family with no outside distractions. What a great treasure to all of us! How wonderful that you will all be together in the Guest House. Praying for that court date!

ReplyDeleteThat's so exciting that the girls will begin to stay with you at the guesthouse tomorrow night! I know that God is using this time to help you bond with Fiona and her with you. She seems to be such a perfect fit -- not only is God's plan at work right now, I believe His plan has been at work for quite some time... long before you could have conceived of traveling to Africa for a daughter. We are praying for that court date!!

Praying that court date comes through quickly! So happy that you guys are going to get more time with Fiona. Paige was very excited to hear that she likes to have her nails painted...sounds like a girls day to the nail spa is in order when you come home! Will continue to pray that the water and electricity keep flowing too.
