Vaccinated and Notarized!

Hi Everyone,

Just as the title reads, this past week was full of finalizing our documents and getting our immunizations for our upcoming trip!

Dave was a little nervous this morning as we headed to the health department, but we left there with our remaining vaccines...yellow fever, typhoid and polio. So, besides a Hepatitis B booster in a couple of weeks, we are fully immunized! The employee at the health department also gave us some great tips for our travel and how to stay well while we are there. There was a big poster on the wall behind her that said, "Africa is Amazing...Typhoid Fever is Not." We hope to only experience the amazing part!

We also finished all of our paperwork! Earlier this evening we delivered our documents to our friend Mark who is leaving on Saturday for Germany and then will be headed to Uganda for a visit. Mark is planning on becoming familiar with the area, meeting our attorney, checking out some hotels, and mostly importantly, will get to meet our girls, Rachel and Fiona! We were able to send a couple of things with him to take to Fiona and he promises to take lots of pictures for us while he is there! So, later this month, I will have some new pictures to share! We can't wait for him to get to meet the girls and tell us all about them! Please keep Mark in your prayers for safe travel over the next couple of weeks and for a productive trip.

We have also filed our I-600 form and through a friend at work was able to talk to our congressman's office in Washington who will watch for our forms and help keep them moving along. He said his assistant will personally follow up with us on our adoption! It's good to have people with connections! :) Once we receive word from them, we will be given a day and time to go to Indy for our final fingerprints at the FBI office. It's hard to believe we are coming to the end of this process and soon will be waiting on a court date!

Thank you all for your support and excitement for us as we go through this adoption. We know there may be some challenges ahead, but it is so evident to us that God is in control and will continue to be. Thank you for your prayers!

Love,
Sara, Dave and Tyler
