A New Week

Hi Everyone,

A little late on this posting, but I was so tired last night, I just could not stay up to do it. :) Our day started off great with church in Gaba. I've said it before, but these people know how to do church. The worship time was amazing and the sermon was really great too. He talked about how we are all charged with being witnesses of God no matter how shy or incapable we think we may be. The church here runs a baby home called Loving Hearts and during service they brought the 19 babies in to dedicate them. There was also a couple of families from the US here that are in the process of adopting from the home. These babies are so cute! Scovia's sister Christine works at the baby home, so we are going to try to schedule a visit. There was also a band from the US that are here in town for the Love Kampala festival that is coming up this weekend and they performed as well. Fabulous!

Yesterday was also the graduation party for Agnes. It became an all day event. They served lunch at the house following church and then we kept hearing the party at the church was to start at 2:00. The party did not actually start until after 5:00 though. That is Ugandan time for you! There is no such thing as a set schedule here! Many folks got up to say a few words to Agnes and many people sang as well. All in Luganda! After a couple of hours of that they served dinner. Normally when we are at Scovia's they will serve us with silverware, although they do not use any themselves. At the dinner however, there was no silverware. So, Rachelle and I ate our first dinner as any other Ugandan, and that was with our fingers! One of the photographers got a great picture of us. :) Everyone was so kind though and made us feel so welcome. As it was already dark at this point and we did not bring flashlights with us, Livingstone walked us back to the hotel in the dark. Ugandans are used to seeing in the dark, so it is not hard for them, but we had to take each step carefully.

Last night, I got to end my day with a Skype with Dave and Tyler and then my mom.

Right now the girls are playing and Rachelle and I are going to get some paperwork ready for the Embassy, where we will hopefully be going next week to get Visas! Four days until our ruling!

Please continue to pray for Judge M this week as he writes rulings for many families here in Uganda waiting. Pray that he heart will be softened for these families and for the children involved.
