Quick Update

Hi Everyone!

We haven't posted anything in a couple weeks, so just wanted to give everyone a quick update. We've been in waiting mode lately. This Wednesday we head to Michigan City to get our fingerprints and background checks done with Homeland Security. After that, we wait for our final certificate and then we can travel. We'll give the attorney a thumbs up and wait for our court date!

We have been shopping for supplies for our trip - backpacks, hats, sunscreen, and all sorts of things we will need. We also got our final booster shot, and prescriptions for our malaria pills and an antibiotic for each of us just in case we need them. And, some sleeping pills for the plane, which we will definitely be using!

It looks like we will be staying in a guesthouse while we are there. It will be nice because it will just be a short walk to Scovia's house and we'll be able to spend as much time as we can with the girls. One of Scovia's daughters has offered to cook for us at the guesthouse, three meals a day for just $12 a per person!

We found out that there is not a place available with air conditioning that is close to everything we will need. We could stay further out, but that would require alot of travel each day and that's not really how we want to spend our time. This way we will be close to Scovia's, the church, the girls school and the market, and can walk to them all. No airconditioning for three weeks is a little scary to me - but I have come to terms with it. :) On the bright side, our bed will be enclosed with a misquito net, and there will be a fan in the room. We'll also have our own bathroom with running water - so things will be just fine. I think all those long nights in the hospital have prepared me well! :) Temps lately have been in the low 80's during the day and mid 60's at night. Not too bad!

We got new bedding for Fiona's room and also bought paint. It's all PINK! We also just picked up a couple of outfits for Fiona - my first little girl clothes! Once I have a picture of the finished room, I will post it.

That is all for now. Below is another picture that Mark took when he was there. Fiona with her baby!

Love,
Sara and Dave
